Job summary

YMCA East Surrey is seeking a Housing Support Officer to provide high-quality housing-related support to young people and residents, empowering them to achieve independent living. The role involves liaising with external agencies, managing challenging behaviours, and ensuring accurate record-keeping.

The successful candidate will have a Minimum NVQ Level 3 in housing/social work, be committed to safeguarding, and work 35 hours weekly on-site in Redhill, Surrey, with a salary of £30,940 per year.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are essential.
• Minimum NVQ Level 3 standard qualification or equivalent in housing, social work or youth work.
• Experience working with vulnerable individuals.

Responsibilities

• Induct residents into their accommodation and explain health and safety matters.
• Provide 1-2-1 and group support to residents and assist with appointments and meetings.
• Maintain accurate records on client files and data systems.
• Safeguard residents and adhere to safeguarding policies.
• Move-on planning and assist with resettlement and move-on plans.
• Respond to incidents and liaise with external agencies.
• Maintain house rules and support residents to maintain accommodation.
