Mountain Warehouse in Portsmouth is seeking a confident Team Leader to guide and empower the retail team, driving sales and creating a welcoming shopping experience.

You will coach colleagues, manage store operations, and lead visual merchandising to attract customers while maintaining high standards. A strong communicator with retail experience is essential for delivering excellent service.

Key responsibilities

Leadership and team development

Coach, train and mentor team members to support their development.

Keep the team informed and engaged through clear, open communication.

Ensure colleagues have the product knowledge they need to meet customer needs confidently.

Store operations

Maintain high shop floor standards, including stock presentation, ticketing and organisation.

Oversee daily store operations, including opening and closing duties.

Lead visual merchandising activities to create an attractive, welcoming shopping environment.

Prioritise health and safety to protect colleagues and customers.

Sales and performance

Motivate the team to meet and exceed sales targets and key performance indicators (KPIs).

Identify opportunities for team members to develop their skills and performance.

Lead by example, ensuring consistently excellent customer service.

Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally.

Represent the Mountain Warehouse brand with enthusiasm and professionalism.

Build relationships within the local community to create a welcoming, personal shopping experience.
