Job summary

M-Sport UK, based at Dovenby Hall, seeks a Workshop Foreman to lead a busy team of technicians, ensuring safe, efficient work to the highest standards. You will drive productivity, uphold quality, and develop your people in a fast-paced motorsport environment.

Applicants should have proven supervisory experience in a workshop setting, strong leadership, and good IT and communication skills. Experience in automotive or engineering workshops is desirable; a hands-on approach and commitment to

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in supervising a workshop team, ideally managing 10–15 technicians or mechanics.
• Strong leadership, coaching and mentoring skills with the ability to develop others.
• Experience planning workloads, managing resources and delivering work to deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships.
• Highly organised with attention to detail and the ability to prioritise multiple activities.
• Proactive approach with strong decision-making skills and problem-solving.
• Competent using Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and support a team of technicians, ensuring work is completed safely and to the highest standard.
• Allocate daily workloads, manage workshop priorities and ensure resources are used effectively.
• Monitor productivity, quality and team performance with coaching and feedback.
• Promote and maintain a strong health and safety culture and ensure compliance with procedures.
• Ensure all work meets quality standards and drive continuous improvement.
• Provide technical guidance and support to technicians to resolve issues.
• Work with Engineering, Production, Stores, Purchasing and other departments to deliver projects on time.
• Support training, mentoring and development of technicians and new starters.
• Identify and implement improvements to workshop processes and working practices.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards and manage equipment, tooling and facilities.
