Job summary

M-Sport UK is seeking a Senior Machinist to join the busy Machine Shop at Dovenby Hall. The role involves setting up and operating CNC machinery, reading engineering drawings and collaborating with Engineering, Design and Quality to deliver precision components for motorsport programmes.

You will contribute to tooling choices, process improvements and mentor apprentices while maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency in a high-performance environment.

Qualifications

• Education to Level 3 Machining Technician standard.
• Strong knowledge of precision machining principles & CNC operation.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and tolerances accurately.
• Excellent attention to detail with focus on accuracy and quality.

Responsibilities

• Set and operate CNC machinery to manufacture high-precision components per drawings.
• Prepare machines, tooling, workholding and materials for production.
• Make program adjustments and tool offsets to maintain dimensional accuracy.
• Interpret specifications to accurately manufacture components.
• Ensure all work meets quality standards and procedures, with repeatable results.
• Support and mentor less experienced Machinists and apprentices.
