Job summary

The Collective Network group in Buckinghamshire is seeking a Design Engineer to join a high-performance engineering team in Milton Keynes. You will translate customer concepts into practical manufacturing solutions, guiding projects from concept through to production and delivery.

You'll work with an experienced team, manage your own projects, and develop your engineering skills in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment focused on high-performance applications such as motorsport and aerospace.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Motorsport Engineering, Automotive Engineering or related discipline.
• At least 3 years' experience in a design engineering role.
• Experience using CAD packages such as CATIA V5, Siemens NX, SolidWorks or Creo.
• Ability to interpret technical documents and extract relevant engineering data.
• A methodical approach to problem-solving, with strong analytical and non-verbal reasoning skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
• The confidence to manage your own workload while working effectively as part of a wider engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Supporting larger engineering projects while independently managing smaller projects from concept through to delivery.
• Producing, interpreting and modifying engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Using CAD software to develop accurate and practical design solutions.
• Extracting and interpreting technical information to ensure designs meet project requirements.
• Working closely with design colleagues and manufacturing teams to resolve technical challenges.
• Ensuring designs are accurate, manufacturable and delivered to the required standards.
• Contributing to continuous improvement and the development of new engineering solutions.
