Job summary

Kirklees College in Huddersfield is seeking a Motor Vehicle Workshop Facilitator to be based at the engineering centre. You will oversee the end-point assessment process and ensure equipment is prepared for commercial delivery, while supporting students and staff in high‑quality practical training.

You will maintain tools and stock, supervise practical tasks, assist demonstrations and apprenticeship assessments, and ensure a clean, professional learning environment in line with College values.

In the role of Facilitator, you’ll predominantly be based at the engineering centre and your focus will be on preparation and overseeing the end point assessment process and ensuring equipment is prepared for commercial delivery.

Your key responsibilities will be to ensure the safe, efficient, and organised operation of the workshop, supporting both students and staff in delivering high-quality practical training. You will be responsible for maintaining tools and equipment, monitoring stock levels, preparing the workshop for sessions, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Additionally, you will supervise students during practical tasks, support lecturers with demonstrations, and assist in apprenticeship assessments, all while maintaining a clean, professional, and industry-standard learning environment.

Ideally, you’ll have an appropriate qualification within the motor vehicle industry (or be able to prove equivalent ability) and demonstrable experience in the further education sector. It’s important that you’re able to communicate effectively, engage with young people and prioritise workloads whilst demonstrating our College values of Kindness, Unity and Excellence in your role.
