Northgate Vehicle Hire Leicester is hiring a skilled Vehicle Technician to maintain a diverse fleet of Light Commercial Vehicles and cars. You will perform diagnostics, electrical work, clutch and gearbox repairs with a focus on safety and quality in a busy workshop environment.

The role offers a generous OTE package, overtime paid at time and a half, and a pathway to IMI Level 3 EV/Hybrid qualifications, plus a generous benefits suite and ample training support.

Qualifications

• Must hold Level 3 or Level 2 Vehicle Technician qualification.
• Experience with diagnostics, electrics, clutches and gearboxes.
• Willingness to work on Hybrid and Electric Vehicles; IMI EV/Hybrid training desirable.

Responsabilités

Salary

£43,639 OTE (basic £37,639k + £6,000 pa bonus OTE + Overtime) + £3k 'Golden Hello'

Weekly Hours:

42.5 hours / Day Shifts Only (Mon-Fri 8am-5.30pm and one Saturday per month 8am-12pm) . As and when required overtime is available and this is paid at time and half.

About us

Northgate Vehicle Hire Leicester is one of our largest and busiest sites. With six ramps currently in place and plans to expand to seven, we’re investing in our workshop to boost efficiency and support the growth of our talented team.

We’re now looking for a skilled and experienced Level 3 Qualified Vehicle Technician or Level 2 to join us. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is confident working on a wide range of vehicles. Key areas of expertise we’re looking for include diagnostics, electrics, clutches, and gearboxes.

At Northgate, we’re proud to work on a large number of Hybrid and Electric Vehicles. As part of your development, we’ll support you in achieving your IMI Level 3 qualifications in EV and Hybrid technology, along with other specialist training such as tail lift maintenance, windscreen repair, and AdBlue systems.

You’ll be working exclusively on our own fleet-no upselling, no customer pressure-just quality technical work. The fleet consists of around 90-95% Light Commercial Vehicles (LCVs) and 5-10% cars, giving you great variety and the chance to enhance your skills across different vehicle types.

Our Huddersfield workshop is home to a highly experienced and knowledgeable team, from our technicians through to our workshop manager. You’ll have the support and mentorship you need to grow your capabilities, expand your knowledge, and reach your full potential.
