• Plan and deliver engaging practical and theory-based Motor Vehicle lessons.
• Support students to develop their knowledge and practical skills within the motor vehicle sector.
• Adapt teaching to meet a range of SEN, SEMH and additional learning needs.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with students and encourage engagement with education.
• Provide clear boundaries, structure and consistent expectations within classroom/workshop environments.
• Support students to develop confidence, independence, teamwork and employability skills.
• Monitor student progress and provide appropriate feedback.

Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for a Motor Vehicle Teacher to join an alternative provision setting in Milton Keynes, supporting young people with SEN and SEMH needs. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Motor Vehicle teacher, vocational tutor or industry professional with teaching experience who is passionate about helping young people develop practical skills and confidence.

The setting works with students who may have found mainstream education challenging and provides a more practical, supportive environment where students can re-engage with learning. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and practical Motor Vehicle sessions, helping students develop both their technical knowledge and wider employability skills.

The Role

As a Motor Vehicle Teacher, you will:

• Plan and deliver engaging practical and theory-based Motor Vehicle lessons.
• Support students to develop their knowledge and practical skills within the motor vehicle sector.
• Adapt your teaching to meet a range of SEN, SEMH and additional learning needs.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with students and encourage them to engage with education.
• Provide clear boundaries, structure and consistent expectations within the classroom and workshop environment.
• Support students to develop confidence, independence, teamwork and employability skills.
• Monitor student progress and provide appropriate feedback.
• Work closely with colleagues and the wider support team to ensure students receive the right level of support.

About You

We are looking for someone who has a strong background in Motor Vehicle and is confident delivering practical, hands-on learning. You may be a qualified teacher, vocational tutor or an experienced Motor Vehicle professional with relevant teaching or training experience. Experience working with young people with SEN, SEMH or challenging behaviour would be highly beneficial, although a willingness to learn and adapt your approach is equally important. Most importantly, you will be patient, approachable and consistent, with the ability to engage students who may have previously struggled within a traditional school environment.
