Job summary

Howden is seeking a penultimate-year student for a 10-week Specialist Motor Underwriting internship in London. You will work with underwriters, analyze data, attend broker meetings, and support opportunity assessment.

You will gain hands-on experience in motor insurance, build analytical and communication skills, and learn how data drives underwriting decisions. Travel costs for the assessment day are covered and there is potential for a deferred graduate offer.

Qualifications

• Penultimate year of university, analytical degree preferred (Maths, Economics, Finance, Engineering or CS).
• Enjoy working with data and making decisions from evidence.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Detail-oriented, comfortable with numbers.
• Eligibility to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Support underwriters by reviewing performance and analysing data.
• Attend broker meetings to learn relationship building.
• Identify trends and opportunities to grow the portfolio.
• Respond to technical queries from brokers and internal teams.
