Allianz UK in Maidstone is seeking a Motor Fleet Underwriter to drive profitable growth, manage broker relationships and shape a portfolio in a hybrid role. The role focuses on renewals and new business, with office attendance three days a week in a collaborative, high-performing team.

You will participate in the Fleet Authority Accreditation programme, develop underwriting, risk engineering, pricing and claims management skills, and engage with Allianz Group experts to share best practices.

Qualifications

• Proven expertise in underwriting/assessing complex risks (Fleet experience desirable but not essential).
• Strong track record of managing broker relationships that drive growth and retention.
• Experience in underwriting and risk evaluation for large or complex accounts.
• Ability to adapt quickly to short-notice changes with a commercial mindset.

• Develop trusted broker partnerships to unlock opportunities and strengthen market presence.
• Engage with clients and brokers face-to-face, network, and participate in industry events.

Allianz has a great opportunity for a Motor Fleet Underwriter to join our team in Maidstone. You will play a pivotal role within our Motor Fleet Underwriting team, driving profitable growth while building strong broker relationships and shaping our portfolio. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your underwriting expertise in a collaborative, high-performing environment.

You’ll take part in our Fleet Authority Accreditation programme, sharpening your skills in underwriting, risk engineering, pricing, and claims management. You’ll also connect with experts across the Allianz Group to exchange best practices and broaden your global perspective.

Location: This role is be based in our Maidstone office, please note that this is a hybrid working role with the expectation that you will attend the office 3 days per week.

Salary Information

Pay: Circa £44,000 per year. Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.

About You

• Take ownership of your allocated renewals &/or new business, using your expertise to retain strategic accounts that drive growth.
• Develop trusted partnerships with brokers, leveraging collaboration to unlock new opportunities and strengthen market presence.
• Represent the business confidently through face-to-face engagement, networking, and active participation in industry events.
• Support team development by guiding peers, reviewing referrals, and ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality service.
• Work closely with internal departments to streamline processes and deliver seamless, client-focused solutions.
• Act as a reliable point of contact for priority clients, anticipating needs and delivering tailored, responsive support.

Essential Skills

• Proven expertise in underwriting/assessing complex risks (Fleet experience is desirable but not essential); if you have strong Underwriting or broking experience, we’d love to hear from you.
• A track record of dealing with large and/or complex risks and cases
• Proven ability to manage broker relationships that fuel growth and long-term retention
• The ability to adapt and react with a commercial mind to short notice change
