Job summary

Hedin Automotive BMW & MINI Group is seeking an MOT Tester to join our state‑of‑the‑art workshop. You will conduct MOT inspections to DVSA standards, diagnose faults, and perform related repairs to keep BMW and MINI vehicles safe and compliant.

The role offers a base salary of £28,050 with an OTE of up to £39,600, plus paid overtime on Saturdays. Work Monday to Friday with 1 in 4 Saturday rota support.

Qualifications

• Valid MOT Tester qualification and DVSA familiarity.
• Proven experience in vehicle maintenance and repair in dealership or independent workshop.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct MOT inspections in line with DVSA standards.
• Diagnose, report and rectify vehicle faults efficiently.
• Perform MOT-related repairs when required.
• Inspect brakes, suspension, exhaust, emissions and other components.
• Maintain accurate records of MOT test results.
• Deliver high-quality technical advice and customer service.
• Support workshop efficiency and safety compliance.

THE MAIN DUTIES OF THE ROLE INCLUDE

• Conducting MOT inspections in accordance with DVSA standards


• Diagnosing, reporting, and rectifying vehicle faults accurately and efficiently


• Performing MOT‑related repairs where required


• Carrying out thorough inspections of brakes, suspension, exhaust systems, emissions, and other key vehicle components


• Maintaining accurate and compliant records of MOT test results


• Performing servicing, maintenance, and repair work in accordance with BMW/MINI UK standards


• Delivering high standards of technical advice, service, and maintenance to customers


• Supporting workshop efficiency while ensuring all vehicles meet safety and environmental standards

YOUR PROFILE

• Valid MOT Tester qualification


• Level 3 Vehicle Maintenance and Repair qualification, ATA accreditation, or equivalent


• Proven experience in vehicle maintenance and repair within a dealership or independent garage environment


• Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

SALARY AND HOURS

• Basic salary £28,050 with an OTE of up to £39,600 + per annum.


• Monday - Friday, 8am to 5pm with Sat, 8am to 12.30pm on a 1 in 4 rota basis, paid as overtime hours.
