Qualifications

• Current valid MOT Tester qualification recognised by the DVSA.
• Proven experience conducting MOT tests in a professional garage.
• Strong understanding of vehicle mechanics and systems (brakes, suspension, steering, emissions).
• Excellent attention to detail with ability to identify defects accurately.
• Good communication skills (written and verbal).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a busy workshop.
• Basic IT skills for inputting data and managing electronic MOT certificates.

Responsibilities

• Conduct MOT inspections on a wide range of vehicles, ensuring compliance with DVSA standards and regulations.
• Identify and accurately report any faults or defects found during inspections, providing clear and professional feedback to customers.
• Complete all necessary documentation and submit MOT certificates electronically in a timely manner.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of MOT testing procedures, DVSA guidelines, and relevant legislation.
• Ensure all testing equipment and tools are properly maintained and calibrated.
• Deliver exceptional customer service by answering queries and advising customers on repairs or maintenance where appropriate.
• Work collaboratively with the service team to support workshop efficiency and customer satisfaction.
