Octane Recruitment is seeking a motivated MOT Technician for a fast-fit automotive business in Southampton. You will complete MOTs on customer vehicles and perform light and some full-service work, with on-going training offered as you develop your skills.

Qualifications

• Valid UK driving licence is essential.
• Experience as a Vehicle Technician; no formal qualifications required.
• Experience as an MOT Tester or MOT licence.
• Willing to learn and progress to Level 3 qualifications (IMI/Hybrid).

Responsibilities

• Completing MOTs on customer vehicles.
• Light and full-service work.
• Fast fit duties as required.
• Work with workshop to achieve targets.
• Coordinate with Service/Parts and other departments.
• Ensure DVSA process is followed.

Job description

Our client who is one of the UKs fastest growing fast-fit automotive business, are currently looking for a MOT Technician based at their retail centre in Southampton.

As aMOTTechnicianwould be responsible for completing MOTs on customers cars, as well as other light repair work. To be applicable for this role you must have a valid MOT licence, as well as experience working as a Vehicle Technician. You do not need to be a qualified technician for this role. Our client is happy to put you through your qualifications!

Location: Southampton

Pay / salary: £36,000 to £40,000

OTE: Uncapped and realistic £3,600

Shift and schedule: 08:30 17:30 Monday to Friday; Saturdays 08:30 16:00 on a rota with a day off in the week.

Responsibilities

• Completing MOTs on customer vehicles
• Light and full-service work
• Fast fit duties as and (when required)
• Working with the rest of the workshop to achieve targets
• Working with other centre departments (Service, Parts, etc) and ensuring that they are well informed
• Ensure the correct DVSA process is followed

To be a MOT Technician you will need:

• Valid UK driving licence Essential
• Experience working as a Vehicle Technician (no qualifications needed)
• Experience as an MOT Tester
• A valid MOT licence Essential
• Have a passion for the Automotive industry and want to develop further
• Want to learn and develop your knowledge of Hybrid cars
