Octane Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced MOT Tester, MOT Technician, or Vehicle Technician for a busy automotive service centre in Salisbury. Applicants must hold a current MOT Tester Licence and have prior Vehicle Technician experience, with a Full UK Driving Licence and the right to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• Current, valid MOT Tester Licence.
• Experience as MOT Tester or MOT Technician.
• Experience as Vehicle Technician or Car Mechanic.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Willingness to complete Level 3 and Hybrid Vehicle qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Carry out MOT tests in accordance with DVSA regulations.
• Complete servicing, maintenance and light repairs.
• Carry out fast-fit repairs, including tyres.
• Identify vehicle defects and recommend repairs.
• Work closely with Vehicle Technicians, Service Advisors and Parts teams.
• Maintain accurate MOT records and follow DVSA procedures.
• Support workshop productivity and maintain high safety standards.

Job description

We are recruiting for an experienced MOT Tester, MOT Technician or Vehicle Technician to join a busy automotive service centre in Salisbury. Applicants must hold a current MOT Tester Licence, have previous Vehicle Technician experience, possess a Full UK Driving Licence and have the right to work in the UK. A Level 3 qualification is not essential, as full training and qualifications will be provided.

Location: Salisbury, Wiltshire

Salary: Up to £36,000 Basic + Uncapped Bonus

OTE: Additional £3,600 realistic bonus

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:30pm. Saturdays 8:30am – 4:00pm on a rota, with a day off during the week.

MOT Tester Role

• Carry out MOT tests in accordance with DVSA regulations
• Complete vehicle servicing, maintenance and light repairs
• Carry out fast-fit repairs, including tyres and associated work
• Identify vehicle defects and recommend necessary repairs
• Work closely with Vehicle Technicians, Service Advisors and Parts teams
• Maintain accurate MOT records and follow DVSA procedures
• Support workshop productivity and maintain high safety standards

MOT Tester Requirements

• Current, valid MOT Tester Licence (essential)
• Previous experience as an MOT Tester or MOT Technician
• Previous hands-on experience as a Vehicle Technician or Car Mechanic
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Right to work in the UK
• Good knowledge of MOT testing procedures and DVSA standards
• Willingness to complete Level 3 and Hybrid Vehicle qualifications
