University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Mortuary Officer for Derbyshire Pathology at the Chesterfield Site. The role involves providing administrative, reception and operational support to ensure respectful admission, care and release of deceased persons.

The post requires a well-organised, compassionate individual with experience in healthcare settings, ability to handle difficult and emotional situations, and strong IT/data entry skills while maintaining

Qualifications

• Good general education (4 GCSEs including a science) and experience in healthcare or similar environments.
• Physically fit to lift/maneuver deceased persons, with or without mechanical aids.
• Ability to communicate with bereaved families and colleagues with empathy and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative, reception and operational support within the Mortuary Service.
• Ensure the respectful admission, care and release of deceased persons.
• Assist Anatomical Pathology Technologists and colleagues to deliver a safe, secure service.
• Maintain dignity of the deceased and support bereaved families, HM Coroner and Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
• Demonstrate confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
• Input data into hospital IT systems using Microsoft Office tools.
