Job summary

Mortgage Advice Bureau is seeking an experienced Mortgage & Protection Adviser to join Birmingham Mortgage Hub. The role offers hybrid/remote working and a base salary of £26,000–£34,000 with commission, working across Bromsgrove, Redditch and surrounding areas.

You will provide high‑quality mortgage and protection advice, develop relationships with estate agency teams, and handle cases from enquiry through to completion while meeting regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• CeMAP or equivalent qualification is required.
• Experience as Mortgage & Protection Adviser.
• Strong understanding of the residential mortgage market.
• Experience working with estate agents or within an estate agency environment preferred.
• Ability to manage workload remotely and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provide suitable mortgage and protection advice to new and existing customers.
• Manage residential purchase and remortgage cases from inquiry to completion.
• Build productive relationships with estate agency branch teams.
• Respond promptly to customer referrals and business opportunities.

Working pattern: Hybrid/remote
Salary: £26,000–£34,000 basic, plus commission
Contract: Permanent, employed position
The opportunity
Birmingham Mortgage Hub, part of Mortgage Advice Bureau, is looking for an experienced Mortgage & Protection Adviser to join its growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an established adviser who enjoys developing strong relationships with estate agency teams and providing customers with high-quality mortgage and protection advice.
You will receive business opportunities from six estate agency branches across Bromsgrove, Redditch and the surrounding areas. The majority of cases are residential purchases, providing a consistent and varied flow of customers requiring mortgage and protection advice.
The position offers predominantly remote working, although you must live within a reasonable distance of Birmingham and Bromsgrove and be available to attend the office or partner branches when required.
Key Responsibilities

• Providing suitable mortgage and protection advice to new and existing customers
• Managing residential purchase and remortgage cases from initial enquiry through to completion
• Building productive relationships with estate agency branch teams
• Responding promptly to customer referrals and business opportunities
• Maintaining accurate records and meeting all regulatory and compliance requirements
• Delivering an excellent customer experience throughout the mortgage journey
• Identifying appropriate protection needs and recommending suitable solutions

We are looking for someone who:

• Is CeMAP qualified, or holds an equivalent recognised qualification
• Has previous experience as a Mortgage & Protection Adviser
• Has a strong understanding of the residential mortgage market
• Ideally has experience working alongside estate agents or within an estate agency environment
• Is confident building relationships and converting referred leads
• Can manage their own workload effectively while working remotely
• Has excellent communication, customer service and organisational skills
• Lives within reasonable travelling distance of Bromsgrove and Birmingham
