Job summary

FCC Environment is hiring a Morning Shift Supervisor at Envirosort. You will assist the Plant Manager to operate the Materials Recycling Facility safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively, overseeing staff and daily performance.

You will ensure adherence to safety procedures, supervise a team, support production targets, and maintain records. The role is full-time with a 5:30am–3:30pm shift and a competitive package across England.

Qualifications

• 3 years' supervisory experience in manufacturing or process environments.
• Experience in people management and clear communication.
• Strong English spoken and written.
• Good IT skills, including Excel and Word.
• Strong numerical and organisational abilities.
• Health & Safety focused approach.
• Leadership qualifications are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Supervise recycling assistants, team leaders, drivers and weighbridge operatives.
• Ensure all site activities are carried out safely and in line with procedures.
• Monitor plant, equipment and operational performance and report defects.
• Support delivery of production targets.
• Conduct daily operational checks and maintain records.
• Deliver toolbox talks and support training and development.
• Manage attendance, conduct return-to-work interviews and address performance issues.
• Collate payroll information accurately and on time.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation and company policies.
• Collaborate with Plant Manager to optimise resource use and site operations.

Salary: £32,454 - £44,625

Hours : 5:30am to 3:30pm (47.5 hours)

Location : Envirosort, WR5 2DF

About the role

As a Morning Shift Supervisor at Envirosort (Severn Waste Services), you will assist the Plant Manager in the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of the Materials Recycling Facility. You will be responsible for supervising employees, maintaining operational standards, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety requirements, and supporting the day-to-day performance of the site.

What will you be doing?

• Supervising recycling assistants, team leaders, drivers and weighbridge operatives

• Working closely with the Plant Manager to ensure efficient use of resources and smooth site operations

What are we looking for?

• At a minimum, 3 years' experience in a supervisory role, ideally within a manufacturing, recycling or process environment
• Previous people management experience
• Strong communication skills with a high standard of spoken and written English
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word
• Strong numerical and organisational skills
• Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team
• Health & Safety focused approach
• Reliable, honest and professional attitude
• Leadership and management qualifications would be advantageous
