Job summary

Veolia in Basingstoke is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the compost facility’s day-to-day running. You’ll manage frontline operations, mobile plant and processing equipment, ensuring safe, compliant performance and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Previous experience within a similar operational management role.
• Good Health & Safety knowledge.
• Operational knowledge of plant and mobile equipment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee/maintain the working processes of the facility including frontline operations, mobile plant and processing equipment.
• Lead operatives, motivating, assigning tasks and monitoring quality standards.
• Induct and monitor specific specialised contractors that are required to maintain the safe operations of the facility.
• Assist with investigating and reporting findings of process incidents and accidents.
• Ensure odour management plan, environmental permitting and planning permission management practices are adhered to at all times.
• To ensure that faults on plant and machinery are reported.
• Supervise the facility in the absence of the process supervisor.

Job description

Salary: £34,985.60 plus shift allowance of £203 per month

Hours: 40 hours per week

8 on, 6 off shift pattern

Location: Basingstoke Compost Site, RG25 2NS

The site handles 100,000 tonnes of green waste and produces 45,000 tonnes of quality Compost.
