Job summary

Veolia UK is seeking a hands-on operator to join our site at Herriard, near Basingstoke. The role supports the oversize picking station and ensures materials are sorted to required standards.

You will work 45 hours a week, Monday to Friday, with overtime as needed, and earn £12.71 per hour plus Veolia benefits, including pension access and health support services.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing or plant operations setting.
• Strong understanding of workplace health and safety protocols.
• Ability to work in a busy production environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the team in maintaining the efficient running of the Oversize picking station
• Ensure materials are separated to meet the required standards
• Handpick individual materials off the sorting conveyor as directed
• Ensure the work area is kept in a clean and tidy condition during and at the end of the working day
• Undertake cleaning duties of the plant when required
• Provide support with daily routine maintenance of the plant
• To be able to cover for other positions within LBW i.e litter picking duties

The site handles 100,000 tonnes of green waste and produces 45,000 tonnes of quality Compost which is nestled in a pretty wooded area. The facility also bags its products for retail sales.
