Viridor Limited in Glasgow is offering an Assistant Shift Team Leader role at the Glasgow Recycling & Renewables Centre. You will work a 40-hour week on a 5-week shift pattern that includes days, nights and weekends.
The role involves supervising the shift team, deputising for the Shift Team Leader, and may include responsibilities as Senior Authorised Person (SAP). You’ll also supervise contractors and help maximise plant availability within the Maintenance Department.

Viridor is at the forefront of waste management and resource recovery in the UK, operating the largest network of Energy Recovery Facilities (ERFs). We play a crucial role in supporting the UK's climate goals by diverting waste from landfills and transforming it into valuable energy resources.
We have an opportunity in Glasgow Recycling & Renewables Centre (GRREC) for an Assistant Shift Team Leader to join our team working 40 hours per week, on a 5 week shift pattern including days, nights and weekends.
The salary for this role will be £56,529 per year, inclusive of shift allowanceand participation in an annual bonus scheme, in addition to our great range of benefits.

The Assistant Shift Team Leader supervises and provides direction to the shift team at the ERF site. They plan, implement and monitor systems and processes through good practice to maximise the process and ensure health, safety and environmental compliance on a 24 hour shift system and will deputise for the Shift Team Leader, as required.
They also need to undertake the role of Senior Authorised Person (SAP), complying with the ERF Safe System of Work. The role includes the supervision of contractors when carrying out activities on site.
The Assistant Shift Team Leader will be working as part of a team within the Maintenance Department when required. They will implement and carry out maintenance activities to ensure plant availability is maximised. They will build and maintain relationships with colleagues to ensure effective communication across the site. They are required to be totally flexible and carry out other duties identified from time to time to ensure site objectives are achieved.
