About Early Years Ltd. is seeking a friendly Teaching Assistant to join the Newport nursery and reception team. The role is mornings-only, ideal for a part-time position while gaining valuable experience in an early years setting.

You will support children as they settle into routines, assist the class teacher, and help maintain a welcoming learning environment. DBS, EWC registration, and two professional references are requested.

Qualifications

• Experience in educational, nursery or childcare settings.
• Enhanced DBS check required; Update Service registration desirable.
• Current registration with Education Workforce Council (EWC) requested.
• Two professional references available on request.
• Patient, nurturing and positive approach; team player.

Responsibilities

• Support children as they settle into Nursery and Reception routines.
• Help pupils feel comfortable, confident and secure in the classroom.
• Assist the class teacher with day-to-day activities.
• Encourage positive behaviour and help explain classroom expectations.
• Maintain a safe, welcoming and engaging learning environment.
• Build positive relationships with children and staff.
