Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a NUS Monitor Technician to support patient care in a fast-paced hospital setting. You will perform clerical duties for admissions, assist patients with forms, and help maintain accurate medical records while monitoring heart rhythms and ensuring confidentiality.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, completion of the Monitor Tech Exam, and BLS/CPR certification, with preferred prior Monitor Tech experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Successful completion of the Hackensack Meridian Health Monitor Tech Exam is required.
• Current & Active NUS Monitor Tech work experience strongly desired.
• BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
• Knowledge of basic anatomy and physiology of the heart is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform clerical duties related to admission, discharge, and documentation of patient information while prioritizing and organizing work assignments based on changing needs and situations in the department.
• Greet patients and families. Assist them in filling out necessary forms and paperwork.
• Complete admission and discharge paperwork and file processing.
• Develop rapport with nursing and clinical staff and respond to questions from healthcare providers.
• Organize and file medical information appropriately.
• Answer phones and call bells and communicate clearly when receiving information from other units or guests.
• Safeguard sensitive medical information and maintain confidentiality of data pertaining to patients, clinicians, employees, and visitors.
• Measure and interpret patient heart rhythm and document in patient records per standards; communicate changes to unit staff.
• Adhere to confidentiality and complete other tasks to ensure efficient department operation.
