We are seeking a talented individual to join our Database Administration team at Marsh McLennan as a MongoDB Database Manager.

This role will be based in Liverpool or in our Bristol, Chichester, Leeds or Manchester offices.

This is a hybrid role that requires working at least three days a week in the office.

This is a unique opportunity for an individual contributor to lead a team across Canada, Colombia, India & the US.

Your experience in and understanding of MongoDB will enable Marsh McLennan to make more meaningful decisions through design, delivery, and support.

Working in partnership with your Indian counterpart, you will join our wider team responsible for Mongo databases & projects related to our Oracle environment for the global Marsh McLennan business, across Australia, Canada, UK & the US.

We will count on you to:

  • Manage priorities and assign work to team members
  • Work closely with offshore colleagues to ensure smooth transition of work handover
  • Guide the team on resolving configuration/performance issues
  • Support MySQL and PostgreSQL in addition to MongoDB
  • Possess DR Failover and Switchover knowledge
  • Have hands-on experience upgrading MongoDB databases to higher versions

What you need to have:

  • Working experience with MongoDB technology including Mongo Atlas & MongoDB Licensing
  • Experience managing or leading a team
  • Hands-on experience with MongoDB installation and the ability to configure Docker MongoDB images on Linux
  • Experience planning and executing strategic database activities, including resolving complex issues
  • Knowledge of audit, security, and encryption at rest
