Job summary

Rise Technical Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Manual Universal Grinder to join a precision engineering environment in the UK. You will set and operate manual grinding machines and read engineering drawings to produce high-precision components.

The role is Monday to Friday, day shift, with overtime and benefits. Based in South Birmingham or surrounding areas, the ideal candidate will have proven manual grinding experience and meticulous attention to detail.

Are you an experienced Manual Grinder with a background in precision engineering looking to join an established manufacturing business where you can utilise your skills on high-precision components?

On offer is a hands‑on position within a precision engineering environment, working with manual grinding machinery and producing components to tight tolerances, with the opportunity to develop your skills further.

This established company specialise in the manufacture of precision‑engineered components and are now looking for an experienced maunal Grinder to join their production team and play a key role in maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.

The day to day of this role includes setting and operating manual universal grinding machines, carrying out cylindrical, internal and external grinding, reading engineering drawings, dressing grinding wheels and making machine adjustments to achieve required tolerances. You will also carry out inspections using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators and verniers.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience operating manual universal grinding machines within a precision engineering environment, with the ability to work accurately to tight tolerances and confidently interpret engineering drawings.
