James Fisher and Sons plc is seeking a Modelling and Simulation Engineer to join our UK team in Inchinnan or Aberdeen. Full-time, permanent position focused on applying state-of-the-art modelling and simulation tools to defence, energy, and maritime transport projects.

You will develop mechanical models, validate outputs against real data, and present clear recommendations to stakeholders, supporting safer, more efficient designs across our portfolio.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in mechanical or related field.
• Experience with FEA/CFD; Ansys preferred.
• Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink and Python.
• Experience validating models with real data.

Responsibilities

• Develop and apply mechanical models and simulations across structural, fluid, thermal and acoustic systems.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to translate project requirements into simulation solutions.
• Validate simulation models using real-world data.
• Analyse results and provide actionable insights for decision-making.
• Present findings to stakeholders through reports and presentations.
• Continuously adopt innovative tools and best practices.
