Job summary

James Fisher and Sons plc in Aberdeenshire seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to deliver design solutions and through-life support for the JFD product range, and to act as technical lead for the engineering team. The role spans from new product design to supporting field upgrades, with management of a small team where applicable.

You will coordinate with internal departments to deliver robust solutions, prepare specifications and BOMs, ensure compliance with PD5500, ASME VIII and other

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical design experience with calculations.
• Knowledge of gas and fluid systems and pressure vessel standards.
• Familiar with Lloyds, DNV, ABS, MIL-STD and DEFSTAN regulations.
• Experience with CAD/CAE tools and PLM for documentation.
• Experience in a Mechanical or Product Engineering role.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering design input to new systems and support existing products.
• Coordinate with internal departments to ensure best technical solutions.
• Create BOMs and manufacturing drawings; prepare specs and reports.
• Ensure on-time, on-budget delivery and regulatory compliance.
• Discipline technical approver for drawings and documentation.
