Job summary

James Fisher in Inchinnan is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our hybrid, full-time permanent team. You’ll deliver innovative design solutions, support through-life engineering, and help maintain critical submarine rescue capabilities.

You’ll own projects from concept to completion, produce precise documentation, and work with Sales, Procurement and Production to deliver robust, cost-effective outcomes within deadlines and budgets.

Qualifications

• Electrical and electronics design skills demonstrated.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering design input for new products and technical support for the existing product range, assessing technical queries and developing effective engineering solutions.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders, including Sales, Procurement and Production, to ensure the most appropriate technical solutions are delivered.
• Source suitable components and materials, creating and maintaining part numbers and bills of materials as required.
• Produce and review engineering documentation, including specifications, proposals, assembly instructions, test procedures, certification and technical reports, ensuring compliance with company processes, engineering best practice, and relevant industry standards.
• Check electrical drawings and associated documentation, taking responsibility as the technical checker to ensure accuracy, quality and compliance.
• Deliver engineering solutions that meet project timescales and budget requirements while maintaining high standards of quality.
• Undertake site visits to JFD locations, customer sites and operational assets as required to support project delivery and business objectives.
