Job summary

Emerald Group seeks an experienced actuarial professional to lead independent reviews of models within the Model Risk Management framework. You will drive governance, challenge methodologies and present evidence-based recommendations to owners and senior leaders.

In this role you will monitor remediation progress, develop management information for the business, and collaborate with Line 1 delivery teams and Model Risk to drive strategic improvements across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Qualified Actuary.
• Experience in actuarial modelling, model validation or risk oversight.
• Knowledge of actuarial model solutions and modelling software.
• Understanding of life insurance & reinsur ance industry.
• Knowledge of governance, control design, documentation, testing and review standards for actuarial models.
• Ability to problem-solve and challenge methodologies and practices.

Responsibilities

• Conduct independent reviews of actuarial models under the Model Risk Management (MRM) framework.
• Perform targeted reviews in response to business requests or major model changes.
• Monitor and review model owners' remediation progress.
• Develop and deliver MRM information for business leaders.
• Identify recurring model risk themes and drive governance and process improvements.
• Present findings and recommendations to model owners, senior leaders and stakeholders.
• Drive collaboration on strategic improvements between Line 1 delivery teams and Model Risk.
• Own complex reviews and initiatives, coordinate input from reviewers and stakeholders, and support junior colleagues.
