Job summary

Emerald Group is seeking a near-qualified actuary with 3+ years' experience to lead model risk reviews within the UK. You will plan and deliver independent assessments, defend conclusions, and contribute to governance and process improvements across actuarial models.

You will collaborate with Line 1 delivery teams and Model Risk, monitor remediation actions, and present findings to senior leaders and stakeholders with clear, evidence-based recommendations.

Qualifications

• Near-qualified actuary with progress toward credentials.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in model risk or actuarial work.

Responsibilities

• Scope, plan and deliver model risk reviews and defend conclusions.
• Conduct scheduled independent reviews under the MRM framework.
• Perform targeted reviews in response to business requests or major model changes.
• Monitor remediation progress from previous reviews.
• Prepare model risk management information for business leaders.
• Identify recurring model risk themes and support governance improvements.
• Present findings to model owners, senior leaders and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Line 1 delivery teams and Model Risk on strategic improvements.
