Job summary

AM Healthcare Group in Leicester is seeking a practical Field Service Engineer to repair and maintain manual and powered wheelchairs, both in our workshop and in patients' homes, schools and community settings. You’ll keep precise service records and support clinical and technical teams.

You will diagnose faults, perform repairs, and carry out basic programming, with a focus on safety and customer service. DBS checks apply, driving licence required and company van provided.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence is required.
• Willingness to undergo DBS check; appointment subject to satisfactory outcome.
• A relevant engineering, mechanical or technical qualification would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair manual and powered wheelchairs, fitting components as needed.
• Provide support in homes, schools and community settings and in the workshop.
• Carry out basic programming and diagnostics on powered wheelchairs.
• Check equipment for safety and readiness prior to delivery or fitting.
• Load/unload equipment and manage van stock levels safely.
• Maintain accurate service, repair and administration records.
• Communicate professionally with patients, carers and colleagues.
• Participate in out-of-hours emergency repair service.
