Job summary

RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician in the SMR division. This full-time role offers a base salary of £45,378 (London Weighting where applicable) with on-target earnings up to £57,000, and a guaranteed overtime option.

The position covers a 40-hour week with core hours 8:30 am–5:00 pm and one in four Saturdays. You will work on a planned schedule across the Guildford cluster, handling diagnostics, routine servicing, and in-depth repairs on-site at members' driveways or car parks.

Qualifications

• Experience using mobile diagnostic tools to assess faults.
• Ability to perform routine servicing and safety checks.
• Strong communication with members to explain issues and fixes.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing and diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs normally done in workshop settings.
• Provide member advice and recommendations after inspections.
• Perform vehicle safety checks aligned with RAC standards.
