Job summary

RAC is hiring a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division, covering the Portsmouth cluster. The role focuses on planned, pre-booked work with no reactive callouts, delivering high-quality servicing and repairs using mobile diagnostics.

You will work a 40-hour week with core hours and occasional Saturdays, benefiting from overtime, bonuses, and a market-competitive base salary. Full UK driving licence required.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Light Vehicle Maintenance.
• 2+ years’ experience in vehicle maintenance or similar.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing and diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs that would normally be done in a workshop.
• Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Carry out vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
