Job summary

The RAC is hiring a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division in the Leeds area. You’ll work on a pre-booked schedule across local towns, performing routine servicing, diagnostics, and in-depth repairs with a fully equipped RAC van and advanced diagnostics tools.

We offer a base salary of £40,170 with on-target earnings up to £52,000, plus overtime options and a 40-hour week. You’ll operate in a structured, non-emergency environment with clear schedules and support.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
• 2+ years’ experience in a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic role.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing and diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop.
• Member guidance and recommendations after inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
