Job summary

RAC is hiring a Mobile Vehicle Technician to work in the SMR division, delivering planned, pre-booked servicing and diagnostics directly at members’ locations. You will use advanced mobile equipment to perform routine servicing, diagnostics and in-depth repairs with guidance from a clearly scheduled work plan.

You’ll be part of a national organisation, covering a local driving area with a structured schedule, consistent workflow, and opportunities to advance with future EV and diagnostic skills.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing.
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop.
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.

Education
