Job summary

Octane Recruitment seeks a Mobile Vehicle Technician in the Leicester area to service, maintain and repair vehicles at customers' homes or workplaces, booked in advance. This permanent, full-time role spans 40 hours weekly with occasional Saturdays.

Hours are 8:00–17:30 with overtime opportunities and a comprehensive benefits package. A Level 2 (ideally Level 3) qualification and a valid UK driving licence are required.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 2 qualification in light vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualification (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ, or equivalent) preferred.
• Minimum 2 years' post-qualification hands-on experience with vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Servicing and repairing vehicles (including EVs) at the customer's selected location, e.g. driveway or office car park.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle problems, including engine, transmission, brake, suspension, and electrical issues.
• Use diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve complex issues.
• Communicate with customers about vehicle issues and repair recommendations.
• Payment handling through card transactions.
• Keep up to date with the latest automotive technology and repair techniques.
• Keep accurate records of all work performed and parts used.

Education

Level 2 qualification in light vehicle maintenance and repair
