Job summary

Halfords is hiring a Mobile Tyre Technician to visit customers at their driveways and perform tyre fitting and related services. The role involves working a 44-hour week with a structured shift pattern and a base salary with bonus potential.

You will operate from a serviced van, collecting it from a local hub and following smart routing to complete repairs and service tasks for customers.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Tyre Fitter or in vehicle repair is desirable.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to solve problems and work on own initiative.
• Passion for cars and motoring.

Responsibilities

• Perform tyre fitting and related automotive services.
• Carry out dash-cam fitting, battery replacement, air-con services, windscreen repairs, and oil & filter changes.
• Travel to customer locations in a van and adhere to route guidance.
• Provide high-quality customer service and safe, efficient workmanship.

About the Role

On-target earnings: up to £34,609

Additional earnings: A monthly bonus scheme with average additional earnings of £2,600

Per year: Comprising a base salary of £32,009

• 44 hour week
• Shift pattern between Monday - Sunday including every other weekend
• 8:00 - 20:00 (5-day pattern may also be available)

Key Responsibilities

As a Mobile Technician, you'll use your technical knowledge, problem-solving ability and customer service skills to keep our customers moving. After collecting your fully equipped van from the local Hub, you'll be guided through your route by our smart technology, carrying out a wide range of repairs and services for our customers. With full training provided for any gaps in your skill set, you can expect to carry out the following work, day-to-day:

• Tyre fitting
• Dash-cam fitting
• Battery replacement
• Air-con services
• Windscreen repairs
• Oil & filter changes
• Tow-bar fitting

Skills and Experience

• Previous experience as a Tyre Fitter or in other vehicle repair work is highly desirable
• Strong customer service skills & experience
• Ability to problem-solve and work on own initiative
• This role will suit those with a real passion for all things cars & motoring
• A current valid driving licence with no more than 6 points
