Job summary

Transport for Wales is seeking a qualified craftsman to lead and manage a mobile outstation team responsible for Traction and Rolling Stock preparation and repairs in line with Safety and Quality Procedures.

You will allocate resources, motivate staff to hit targets, perform duties of a skilled tradesman when required, and ensure availability and reliability targets are achieved while maintaining high safety standards.

Qualifications

• Qualified Craftsmen.
• 5 years craft experience.
• Experience of managing resources/Staff.

Responsibilities

• To carry out all duties according to Safety and Quality Procedures
• To allocate and control the outstation team under your leadership and direct them in carrying out unit preparations and repairs on all Traction and Rolling Stock in accordance with the DMS, VMI or Local Instructions as supplied by the Technical Department.
• Develop and motivate staff under your leadership to achieve targets set.
• Undertake the duties of Skilled Tradesman where qualified.
