Job summary

Collinson, a global loyalty and benefits company, is seeking a Mobile Squad Lead Engineer to steer native Android and iOS projects while mentoring a 5–7 person squad. You’ll shape mobile architecture, contribute code daily, and partner with product and UX to deliver mobile-first experiences.

You’ll refine technical requirements, make platform decisions, and drive quality through CI/CD and testing while collaborating with backend teams and cloud services.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience with a focus on mobile app development.
• Strong experience building native Android and native iOS apps with modern architectures.
• Previous experience as a Lead Engineer, Tech Lead, or Senior Mobile Engineer leading a small team.
• Proven experience integrating AI-assisted development tools into daily workflows.
• Hands-on experience integrating mobile apps with backend APIs (REST/GraphQL) and cloud services.
• Strong focus on testing and quality with automated testing approaches.
• Experience owning mobile CI/CD pipelines and app store release processes.
• Observability mindset with crash reporting, performance monitoring and analytics tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of native Android and iOS applications, ensuring scalability, performance, security and quality.
• Provide technical leadership to the squad on architecture, frameworks and best practices.
• Remain hands-on, writing and reviewing mobile code while maintaining high quality.
• Collaborate with backend engineers to design and consume robust APIs for mobile experiences.
• Mentor engineers and foster a culture of ownership and technical excellence.
• Own mobile build, release and deployment processes including CI/CD and app stores.
• Champion automated testing and observability to improve app reliability.
