We are recruiting for a supervisor who will be responsible for overseeing technical support, operational leadership, and administrative oversight to ensure vehicle and trailer maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in line with operational requirements.
What will you do?
- Coordinate and distribute daily workloads across Zenith Technicians and approved third-party contractors to maximise productivity and service delivery.
- Assign maintenance defects through the Zenith Portal to appropriate technicians and contractors, ensuring timely completion of all work.
- Review and close completed defect repair jobs within the Zenith Portal, ensuring accurate records are maintained.
- Maintain regular communication with our customers supervisors, providing updates on maintenance activities, repair progress, and operational priorities.
- Liaise with the Flow Room regarding loading bay breakdowns, ensuring prompt response and resolution.
- Support the Repair Manager by providing timely updates on damaged trailers and escalating significant issues as required.
- Assist in securing technician coverage for weekend working when operational demands require additional support.
Fleet Maintenance & Compliance
- Coordinate trailer servicing schedules by communicating trailer allocations and technician assignments to the wider Zenith team and confirming completion of services.
- Produce and distribute daily Vehicle Off Road (VOR) reports to support fleet availability and operational planning.
- Prepare weekly MOT status reports, ensuring a minimum of ten trailers are presented for MOT testing each Tuesday on site.
- Support fleet administration activities, including assisting with white fleet updates and maintenance records.
- Source, maintain, and print trailer documentation, including deck certificates and other compliance-related records.
- Request the creation of new defect and servicing jobs through the RMF Administration Team where required.
Technical Support
- Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support to technicians and operational stakeholders where appropriate.
- Act as a point of contact for maintenance-related enquiries and support effective problem resolution.
Quality, Compliance & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure technicians collect, complete, and sign all defect documentation, including PMT1 forms, in accordance with company procedures.
- Conduct weekly audits of the Zenith operational area to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and housekeeping standards.
- Manage waste disposal arrangements and ensure compliance with environmental and site regulations.
- Coordinate the assignment and closure of Sunday defect work, ensuring all outstanding defects are processed before Monday morning operational requirements.
Productivity & Performance
- Maintain approximately 25-30% hands-on productivity alongside supervisory responsibilities to support operational effectiveness.
- Monitor workflow, resource utilisation, and job completion rates to ensure maintenance targets and service level expectations are achieved.
- Promote high standards of performance, accountability, and teamwork across technicians and third-party contractors.
Key Skills & Experience that are essential for this role -
- Previous experience in a workshop, fleet maintenance, transport, or engineering supervisory role.
- Strong organisational and workload planning skills.
- Experience managing maintenance systems and defect reporting platforms.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent understanding of vehicle and trailer maintenance processes.
- Ability to prioritise work effectively in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Competent in Microsoft Office and maintenance management systems.
