Job summary

Nationwide Platforms, the UK's leading specialist provider of Powered Access rental equipment, is seeking a Mobile Service Engineer to maintain, repair and inspect our machines at depots and on customer sites.

You will visit Bedford and surrounding areas, performing fault-finding, servicing and routine maintenance, and completing required paperwork. Training and safety remain a priority as you contribute to high workshop performance.

Qualifications

• Relevant maintenance qualification and proven experience in plant rental sector.
• Experience in plant, diesel engineering, auto electrics, hydraulics and diagnostics/fault finding.
• Ability to prioritise tasks and work well under pressure.
• Good interpersonal skills and strong customer service awareness.

Responsibilities

• Fault-finding, servicing, repairs and maintenance of powered access equipment.
• Routine service and maintenance of equipment and products.
• Complete paperwork in line with company procedures.
• Refurbishment of equipment when necessary.
• Promote teamwork across depots to ensure workshop performance.
• Liaise with team to estimate repair costs and advise customers on write-offs or recharge.
• Ensure van is stocked with spare parts and service records are updated.
• Adhere to health & safety guidelines and damage reporting processes.
• Maintain productivity in line with company targets and represent the business professionally.
