Job summary

Lancashire County Council’s School Catering Service is hiring a Peripatetic / Mobile Cook / Catering Assistant to support meals in the Lancaster & Morecambe area. The role is part-time (16.25 hours/week), term-time only, with a pro rata salary of £25,949 per annum and a fixed-term until 31 January.

You will prepare and serve healthy meals and help ensure a safe, positive lunchtime experience for pupils. The successful candidate will work as part of a busy team, on their feet most of the day, and

Qualifications

• Previous catering and food-preparation experience is essential.
• Full UK driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Set up dining area, move and arrange furniture.
• Assist with preparation and cooking of food.
• Serve meals and drinks to pupils.
• Clear dining area and store furniture after service.
• Clean equipment, kitchen and dining areas.
• Help the team serve meals safely and efficiently.
