Job summary

Lancashire County Council’s School Catering Service is recruiting a Peripatetic / Mobile Cook / Catering Assistant to help prepare and serve healthy meals in the Lancaster & Morecambe area. The role is busy, hands-on, and involves moving dining furniture, serving pupils, and supporting lunchtime experiences.

You will work across multiple schools during term time, with a fixed-term agreement until 31 January and 16.25 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Previous catering and food-preparation experience, essential for this role.
• Full, valid UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Setting up the dining area and moving furniture for service.
• Assisting with preparation and cooking of food.
• Serving meals and drinks to pupils.
• Clearing dining area and putting furniture away after service.
• Cleaning equipment, kitchen and dining areas.
• Helping the team serve meals safely and efficiently.
