Job summary

Direct Line Group is hiring a Green Flag technician to work across Welwyn Garden City, St Albans, Aylesbury, High Wycombe and surrounding areas. You’ll start from home, with a 40-hour week over four days, covering shifts 7am–8pm and optional overtime.

You’ll diagnose faults, repair tyres, batteries or fuel issues to get customers back on the road. The role offers up to £40,000 base, OTE £44–48k, plus a 9% employer-contributed pension and overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must be 21+ for insurance purposes.
• Current Category B driving licence required.
• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in light vehicle maintenance preferred.
• Demonstrate empathy and a desire to achieve the correct outcome.
• Experience in the Motor Repair industry.
• Experience of lone working desirable.
• Use up-to-date vehicle repair techniques.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve vehicle issues to get customers back on the move.
• Operate in a four-day week, 40 hours, with a shift pattern between 7am and 8pm, including overtime.
• Carry a full kit and provide on-site breakdown assistance to customers.
• Collaborate with dispatch to improve the customer claims journey.
