OCS UK & Ireland is seeking professional Retail Area Support Officers to safeguard multiple supermarket locations across South Tyneside and Sunderland. This mobile role requires a visible security presence, robust customer service, and readiness to respond to incidents.

You will patrol, monitor CCTV, and liaise with store teams to support loss prevention. A valid UK SIA licence, DBS/BS7858 clearance, and driving licence are essential. Right to work in the UK is required.

Qualifications

• Must have Right to Work in the UK and be able to pass enhanced DBS and BS7858 security clearance.
• A valid SIA Licence (Door Supervisor or Security Guarding) and relevant security experience.
• Full UK driving licence and vehicle ownership is preferred.
• Experience in retail security or customer-facing roles is advantageous.
• Strong observation, decision-making, and communication skills.
• Flexibility to work across multiple locations and varied shifts, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

Responsabilités

• Provide high-profile security presence to deter theft and incidents.
• Patrol shop floors, entrances, and perimeters.
• Monitor CCTV and identify suspicious activity in real time.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and emergencies promptly.
• Carry out searches in line with policies and legal requirements.
• Liaise with store management to address risks and support loss prevention.
• Produce clear incident reports promptly.
• Deliver professional customer service and handle queries.
• De-escalate situations safely and effectively.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and client procedures.
• Travel between sites as required and support wider security operations.
