Job summary

SUEZ Company in the UK is seeking a motivated site operative to join our team. You will provide customer service on site, advise on using the site to maximise material recovery, operate mobile plant, and maintain accurate site records.

This role requires a full driving licence, a flexible approach to cover holidays and sickness, and a willingness to work 4 on 4 off shifts. IOSH health and safety qualifications may be pursued as part of development.

Responsibilities

• Advise and assist members of the public on how to use the site to maximise material recovery.
• Operate Mobile Plant.
• Maintain accurate records for removal of materials from the site.
• Coordinate container exchanges by booking loads to keep space for segregation and storage.
• Maintain a tidy site within your areas of responsibility.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and welfare duties and with SUEZ policies and procedures.
• Be prepared to take on other duties within the scope of the job-role.

What will I be doing?

Providing excellent levels of customer service, you will advise and assist members of the public on how to use the site in order to maximise recovery of materials they are depositing, which will involve:

• A flexible approach is required
• Operating Mobile Plant
• Full driving license is required
• Maintaining accurate records for the removal of materials from the site.
• Controlling the exchange of containers by booking loads with the relevant person, thus ensuring the site always has space to segregate and store material correctly.
• Maintaining a tidy site within his/her areas of responsibility.
• Ensuring SUEZ complies fully with its legal duties in respect of the health, safety and welfare of its employees and of other people who may be affected by his/her actions or omissions.
• Co-operating with SUEZ and with other employees in order to comply with the site permit, comply with all applicable legislation, and SUEZ Policies and Procedures.
• Any other duties that are reasonably requested within the scope of the job-role.
• With the potential to gain qualifications including IOSH health, we are looking for an enthusiastic team player who will be expected to join the current site team to ensure operations exceed the standards required.

What you will need is:

• A good level of customer service and ability to work in a team.
• Ideally prior mobile plant use is desirable but full training will be given.
• A flexible approach to work will be advantageous as you will be expected to cover holiday and sick days if required.
• Full Driving License

Salary and working arrangements

• Salary £30,633.77 per annum / £15.25 per hour
• Working a 4 On 4 Off shift pattern
• Start/finish times: 10.5 hours per shift in Winter, between 07.45 hrs-18:15 hrs, then 12.5 hours per shift in Summer between 07.45 hrs-20:15 hrs.
• Working 38.5 per week (pro rata) - Monday to Sunday
• Full PPE provided
