Job summary

SUEZ in the United Kingdom is recruiting for a Site Operative to provide excellent customer service at our Newquay site. You will advise the public on how to use the site to maximise materials recovery, keep tidy spaces, and support the team to meet health and safety obligations.

You'll join a friendly site team, receive full training, and cover holidays as needed. A flexible approach and willingness to work as part of a busy operation are essential to succeed in this role.

Responsibilities

• Advise the public on how to use the site to maximise materials recovery.
• Maintain accurate site records for material removal.
• Coordinate container exchanges to ensure space for segregation and storage.
• Keep the site tidy within your area of responsibility.
• Assist with health, safety and welfare obligations for employees and others.
• Co-operate with the site team to comply with permits, legislation and SUEZ policies.
• Undertake any other duties within the scope of the job role.

What will I be doing?

Providing excellent levels of customer service, you will advise and assist members of the public on how to use the site in order to maximise recovery of materials they are depositing, which will involve:

• Maintaining accurate records for the removal of materials from the site.
• Controlling the exchange of containers by booking loads with the relevant person, thus ensuring the site always has space to segregate and store material correctly.
• Maintaining a tidy site within your areas of responsibility.
• Ensuring SUEZ complies fully with its legal duties in respect of the health, safety and welfare of its employees and of other people who may be affected by his/her actions or omissions.
• Co-operating with SUEZ and with other employees in order to comply with the site permit, comply with all applicable legislation, and SUEZ Policies and Procedures.
• Any other duties that are reasonably requested within the scope of the job-role.

What are the requirements?

With the potential to gain qualifications including IOSH health & safety, we are looking for an enthusiastic team player who will be expected to join the current site team to ensure operations exceed the standards required.

What you will need is:

• A good level of customer service and ability to work in a team.
• Ideally prior mobile plant use is desirable but full training will be given.
• A flexible approach to work will be advantageous as you will be expected to cover holiday and sick days if required.
