Job summary

Pure Talent Group Ltd is recruiting experienced mobile rail maintenance technicians to service and repair large diesel-electric locomotives across the South West from Westbury, Wiltshire. You'll transfer your HGV/vehicle engineering skills into rail.

No rail experience needed; full specialist training provided. Competitive salary from £42,300 rising to £46,600 with overtime, company van, fuel card, and private medical cover.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Vehicle Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering or a relevant discipline.
• Strong hands-on mechanical maintenance and fault-finding experience.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Willingness to work a rotating shift pattern, including weekends.
• Comfortable travelling regionally and working outdoors.
• Ability to pass a railway medical, drug and alcohol screening and relevant background checks.
• Rail experience is NOT essential. Full training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Planned servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs.
• Diagnosing diesel engine, electrical and mechanical faults.
• Attending breakdowns and carrying out mobile repairs.
• Working on diesel engines, turbochargers, fuel and cooling systems.
• Maintaining braking systems, compressors, hydraulics and suspension.
• Electrical fault finding on batteries, alternators, sensors and control systems.
• Inspecting, testing and returning equipment safely to service.
• Completing maintenance and safety documentation.
