Job summary

Waracle is seeking a Mid Level QA Engineer to join our digital technology consultancy in Glasgow. The role features a hybrid setup, with collaboration in person two days a week at the Glasgow or Dundee offices, and a focus on designing thoughtful test journeys, building automated testing frameworks, and supporting new team members.

You will work across product and QA teams to ensure quality while contributing to automation, observability, and non-functional testing.

Qualifications

• Skilled in modern web automation frameworks (Playwright) and able to write clean tests and maintain suites.
• Hands-on experience using C# or TypeScript to interact with and test web applications.
• Solid understanding of Agile/SDLC methodologies and functional/non-functional testing.
• Experience analysing requirements, defining test coverage, and triaging defects proactively.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to technical discussions and mentoring others.

Responsibilities

• User-Centric Test Design: design and run tests using product personas to guide user journeys and assess risk of changes.
• Automation Engineering: build and maintain regression automation packs and integrate into CI pipelines for fast feedback.
• System Observability: explore logs and dashboards to validate system health during testing.
• Non-Functional Testing (NFR): perform scripted and manual tests focusing on Security, Performance, and Accessibility.
• Inclusive Communication: provide clear status updates and explain QA issues to non-technical stakeholders.
• Process Care & Improvement: suggest and implement local process enhancements and evaluate new tools.
• Team Collaboration: manage tasks independently while supporting onboarding of new teammates.
