Job summary

Veolia is hiring at Gillmoss/Huyton sites in Merseyside for an on-site Mobile Plant Operator. You will operate loading shovels, perform routine checks, and maintain equipment while ensuring safe entry and exit from tipping areas. The role involves outdoor work in all weather conditions.

Basic hours are 45 per week with start times around 7.45am. Veolia offers holidays, pension access, and health support as part of its employee benefits.

Qualifications

• Good working knowledge of Health & Safety.
• Experience in a similar operational manual handling role.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for site travel.
• Yellow plant experience.
• Wheeled loading shovel experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate all Mobile Plant including a loading shovel.
• Carry out routine checks and maintenance of equipment.
• Clean plant and machinery.
• Complete daily checks paperwork and production records.
• Perform traffic marshalling to ensure safe site access/egress.
• Assist with periodic site cleaning per maintenance schedule.
