Job summary

Veolia in Knowsley is inviting applications for a hands-on site operative based at Huyton. You will operate mobile plant, including a loading shovel, perform routine checks, clean equipment and complete daily paperwork to keep the site running smoothly.

This role involves outdoor work in all weather, requires a driving licence, and adherence to health and safety standards. Overtime may be available and a competitive benefits package is on offer.

Qualifications

• Good working knowledge of Health & Safety.
• Previous experience in an operational manual handling role.
• Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle to travel to sites.
• Yellow plant experience; wheeled loading shovel preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate all Mobile Plant including a loading shovel to load materials into containers.
• Undertaking routine checks and maintenance of the equipment.
• Cleaning the plant and machinery.
• Completing paperwork relating to daily checks, cleaning schedules, machine checks and production.
• Perform appropriate traffic marshalling duties to ensure safe entry and egress to/from the operational tipping areas of the site.
• Assist in the periodic cleaning of the facility in accordance with the planned maintenance schedule.

Salary - £29,741.40 plus overtime when needed

Basic hours - 45 per week, start time 7.45am - to be discussed at interview

Must be available to provide cover to other waste handling facilities within the Veolia Merseyside & Halton contract.

• Assist in the periodic cleaning of the facility in accordance with the planned maintenance schedule, including jet washing the input hall to maintain site conditions.
